I’ve been thinking about the many ways that Structured Blogging might be employed to help technical writers and other content creators do what they do better, faster, and cheaper. Structured Blogging is a new concept in the technical communication and content management fields. And, it often doesn’t make much sense until you take some time to explore the concepts and ponder the possibilities, something I’ve been doing for the past several months.

I remember you telling me about this idea several months ago, when we first started the Suncoast blog. While you didn’t explicitly mention it in your post, I assume that users would be able to contribute to the help file? If so, it might be a little difficult to maintain a crystal clear organization of content. However, I would gladly trade clarity of organization for completeness of topics. Users mostly search for help content anyway.
What progress have the structured bloggers made in producing several help templates? I am eager to try some of these out.
I know the Wordpress documentation is powered by user contributers to a wiki. It’s hard to find out the information I need, but after a few searches it usually turns up.
The help blog would definitely mark a major turning point in user help.
