Sandy: She’s Smart. She’s Considerate. She’s The Best Assistant You’ll Never Meet In Person

image If you’re like most people, you seldom accomplish all the tasks you’d like to. Often, it’s not because you lacked the time, money, or desire. It’s more likely that you just got busy doing other things, and forgot about the unfinished items on your list. That’s why you need a personal digital assistant like Sandy.

We caught up with Sandy during a coffee break. Here’s a snippet from our conversation.

TCW: Sandy, you are the most efficient anthropomorphic personal assistant we’ve ever encountered. How do you do what you do? And, so fast?

Sandy: Working with me is as simple as sending me email. There’s nothing to download, install, or configure. I live in your address book alongside everyone else you know and email. You write to me at a special email address, get my attention with a few simple keywords, and I’ll take it from there.

TCW: Sandy, we’re happy with the work you do for us. But, some of our readers may be concerned you might pay a little too much attention to their activities and, well, get in the way (remember Clippy?). Can you clarify your role?

Sandy: I’m nothing like Clippy. When you bring me into conversation, I listen for cues from you before springing into action. I understand a simple shorthand that feels natural to read and write. Have a look at a few examples.

TCW: One of the main things we like about you is that you’re able to work with all of the software applications we already use. How do you do that?

Sandy: When you tell me about appointments, to-dos, and contacts, my replies come with attachments you can click to add to your calendar, to-do list, or address book. You can even introduce me to your calendar so that everything you tell me shows up there automatically.

I’ll help you stay organized with everyone in your life — effortlessly. Simply Cc: your friends, family, and coworkers on email you send to me (or Cc: me on email you send to them).

  • Set shared reminders (the movie premiere Friday night)
  • Add stuff to each other’s calendars (the dentist appointment)
  • Share a to-do list (get those to-dos done together)

No more fussing with different organizing systems and calendar applications — just bring me into the conversation and I’ll take care of the rest. No matter how far you are from your computer, I’m always close at hand. I can send reminders by email to your BlackBerry, Palm, or iPhone, or text you on your cell phone.

TCW: An additional benefit you provide that our previous assistant did not is customer support.

Sandy: My top-notch support services are provided through Get Satisfaction, an online customer support portal. When you visit the support site you can ask a question, share an idea, report a problem, chat with Sandy’s other clients, and see how they’re putting my services to work. And, if you need references...well, I’ve got references.

TCW: Thanks, Sandy. We appreciate your time today. Now, back to work!
