Adobe Adds 2D Bar Code Functionality To PDF Forms

If you use Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) to create forms, you’re in luck. After years of suggestions from users, Adobe announced March 8, 2004, the release of new functionality which will allow you to add bar codes to the PDF forms you create.

To do so, you’ll need Adobe Designer, a forms creation product that combines PDF and XML (Extensible Markup Language), or a soon-to-be-released plug-in for Acrobat Professional. Adobe Designer facilitaties the creation of structured XML content that can be utilized to exchange information electronically with partners, regulators, and customers.
